Newlife is delighted to announce its new partnership with Shoeaholics, which means that items destined for landfill will instead be used to help thousands of disabled and terminally ill children throughout the UK who are in desperate need of life-changing specialist equipment.<\/p>\n
Shoeaholics, part of the Kurt Geiger group, stocks over 120 plus brands on its site, and is one of the premier destinations for women\u2019s and men\u2019s shoes online. The partnership with Newlife will see Shoeaholics donate unsold items to Newlife to be resold in the charity\u2019s stores across the UK to raise vital funds for equipment that will enhance the lives of disabled children, or to be reused or recycled, preventing them from ending up in landfill.<\/p>\n
Items which cannot be resold are recycled for raw material reclamation to honour the energy that has gone into making the product in the first place – which is good for the planet and great for disabled children!<\/p>\n
Newlife has been championing sustainability and recycling for over 30 years, before it was fashionable to do so! Newlife is registered with the Department of the Environment, and its partner in reusability has been in the industry for decades.<\/p>\n
Newlife, alongside its corporate partners, collected 2,190 tonnes of items in 2019\/2020, diverting over 2,000 from landfill, generating 13,050 tonnes of carbon savings and reusing 3.3 million items. This is the equivalent to taking 4,800 cars off the road, or the carbon used by 1,610 homes, enough to fill 80 Wimbledon Centre Courts.<\/p>\n
Newlife is the UK\u2019s largest children\u2019s charity provider of disability equipment for over 30 years and has changed the lives of over 26,000 disabled and terminally ill children in the UK through a range of free services from: providing vital disability equipment through grants and emergency loans, a nurse helpline to give families support and information, and loans of specialist toys to aid child development.<\/p>\n
