Entries are now open for SPLASH!tonbury, Staffordshire\u2019s first ever open water swimming festival <!--more-->and charity fundraiser &#8211; and it\u2019s set to be an unforgettable day of fun, fitness and fundraising.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is SPLASH!tonbury?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SPLASH!tonbury is an open water swimming festival; a day-long team challenge inviting swimmers to take on as many laps of the lake as they can in 12 hours &#8211; all to raise vital funds so Newlife can help more children with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you\u2019re an open water enthusiast, a weekend dipper or someone looking for a unique way to give back, this is your chance to make a splash in the purpose-built lake at Pillaton Farm in Penkridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How It Works<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teams of 3 to 6 swimmers<\/li>\n<li>Relay-style laps of a 250m lake &#8211; a clean, purpose-built manmade lake<\/li>\n<li>Swim from sunrise to sunset and beyond \ud83c\udf05\ud83c\udf19<\/li>\n<li>Take turns in the water, rest and refuel in the event camp with food, drinks, live music and more<\/li>\n<li>No entry fee &#8211; we just ask that each swimmer commits to raising \u00a3150 to help Newlife provide equipment such as specialist beds, buggies, wheelchairs and car seats for children with disabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Festival Vibes All Day Long<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t just a swim &#8211; it\u2019s a festival!<\/p>\n<p>Expect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Live music from bands and DJs \ud83c\udfb6<\/li>\n<li>Tasty food and drinks from Pillaton Hall Farm vendors \ud83c\udf54\u2615<\/li>\n<li>Fun surprises throughout the day \ud83c\udf88<\/li>\n<li>A lively, supportive atmosphere for swimmers and supporters alike!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And yes, there are <strong>prizes<\/strong> too:<br \/>\n\ud83c\udfc6 Most laps<br \/>\n\ud83c\udfc6 Most money raised<br \/>\n\ud83c\udfc6 Best-dressed gazebo<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why It Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every pound raised will go towards helping us to fund:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Specialist beds, wheelchairs, car seats and buggies<\/li>\n<li>Emergency equipment loans for medically fragile children<\/li>\n<li>Sensory toy kits through their Play Therapy Pod service<\/li>\n<li>A nurse-run helpline for parents and carers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each lap you swim will help provide life-changing equipment for children with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Newlife\u2019s Events Officer Lucy Beardmore said: \u201cEvery stroke, every lap they make, will be directly supporting children who need life-changing specialist equipment.
