The Cannock Chase Running Festival proved to be a great day out for all ages as the community came together to run \u2013 or walk \u2013 either 5k, 10k or a half marathon. Among the participants were some 46 runners taking part to raise funds for Newlife, all raising funds so more children in urgent need of disability equipment can be helped.<\/p>\n
Newlife was the official partner of RunThrough, the organisers of the event, which was also supported by M6toll. The event began at Birches Valley and took runners through the stunning scenery of Cannock Chase.<\/p>\n
The clear and sunny weather put everyone in a great mood before the running even began and made for a perfect day to enjoy their route through the picturesque forest whether they were running or walking.<\/p>\n
Newlife\u2019s team included several staff members who raised an impressive \u00a31,200 between them, while Unity Bank raised an amazing \u00a32,320. Also running for Newlife were teams from Roadchef and Extra Recruitment, as well as people from all walks of life from the surrounding communities \u2013 including 12-year-old David Wang who was Newlife\u2019s youngest fundraiser, taking part in the 5k on the day.<\/p>\n
Newlife\u2019s runners were also joined by the charity\u2019s mascot, Nugget the Newlife Ambassadog, who raced around bringing a smile to everyone\u2019s face as they readied themselves for the running festival to begin.<\/p>\n
A number of runners have signed up to do it all over again for Newlife on October 13 \u2013 and you can be a part of it too!<\/p>\n
The ultimate running festival is a great way to challenge yourself by choosing the distance that\u2019s best for you, whether you are a complete novice, a committed runner, or someone who just wants to have fun with friends \u2013 all while raising funds to help disabled children receive the vital specialist equipment they need.<\/p>\n
A Newlife charity place for the Half Marathon, 10k or 5k is discounted to only \u00a315 per runner with a minimum fundraising commitment starting from just \u00a350 per place. Junior entry is free with a commitment to raising just \u00a330.<\/p>\n
Anyone running a half-marathon, 10k or 5k will receive a free Newlife event running vest, Newlife goody bag on race day, a race medal, access to our Newlife Cannock Chase Running Online Community Group, support from a dedicated member of Newlife\u2019s Fundraising Team and #TeamNewlife will be in attendance on the day to meet and greet and cheer you on.<\/p>\n
